day of the living dead- or dont you just love fall?

Fall Colors are Blazing

Well it’s that time of year when your eyes take trips on the psychedelic colors nature has to offer up before seeing the skeletal remains of a summer now forgotten or on its way there. Just last weekend I had the opportunity to visit a friend in Pennsylvania just over the border from Ohio in the Shippingport area of Pennsylvania which is just on the other side of the Ohio River from East Liverpool, Ohio.

It wasn’t quite optimal viewing and that should come this weekend, so make sure that if you have any intention of enjoying a walk in the woods inhaling the brisk aroma of fallen leaves and crisp autumn air, then it may be this weekend that you would want to take advantage of that opportunity. The cold nights and rainfall will soon turn the colors of autumn into a congealed mass of colors on the forest floor. Instead all that will be left soon is the sticks used to support them before when they were alive in their green growing splendor giving life to the woodsy mass supporting them.

Most of the pics were taken in the area of the Ambridge reservoir around the little borough of Raccoon, on what used to be Raccoon creek. The cemetery we were close to was the service church cemetery and was final resting place of a revolutionary war soldier. The church itself was built in 1800 and still features out houses for the patronage. The reservoir is posted as a no fishing reservoir but still offers a beautiful vista to enjoy late autumn colors and unspoiled beauty.

a rose found in the water beyond the zombie graveyard as if to reinforce a zombie apocalypse where in the daylight the zombie bride and her groom walk into the water waiting for night to return?

There is a rather tainted history to the graveyard as it was the graveyard used in the movie, “Night of the Living Dead” which tells the tale of zombies rising from the dead. The graveyard scene was filmed right there in the graveyard. My friend pointed out the stop sign with the one-way sign warning you to stay out of the graveyard in a rather comical way as if there was a hidden second meaning behind those signs. Sure advice most people listen to, at least the live ones do. Weddings and a weekly church service are still offered there on the banks of the Ambridge reservoir as well a final resting spot for quite a few folks from that area.

Most of the pics are from this area in Pennsylvania. I also plan to visit the Cuyahoga Valley National Park again this weekend with family and friends to view the fall colors from the train again.
