       rocket man here is for sale by driving down rt. 30, out of hanoverton towards , lisbon ,ohio is where i found this guy on side of road. he was for sale but didn't ask whoever created. like to see all different kinds of art, as this may be a sign of the future. anyhow tonight i intend to do a little catch up and eat some crow. 

      i was talking about population presently and stated it was 7 trillion people and i was wrong it was 7 billion people . i only made it 100000 times worse than it was. still it states in wiki pedia that we have added  over 2 billion people from 1987. i heard at one time that in india they are having 67 births/ minute.
      anyhow still a lot of mouths to feed and bodies to keep warm. i can remember talking to this woman who was in health care and we were discussing world health problems and i asked her.
     "do you think we have enough people or not enough , or just the right amount in society. given the fact that children in this world have died of poverty,  disease etc?'

   and she replied we didn't have enough people almost immediately. and she thought we were more efficient when we have more people. that the people will step up to meet the need . interesting observation as my opinion was totally opposite being conservative and limit society in what it can afford . some might have equated conservatism to almost being republican. but i am quite the opposite of that. just think the farmer should lead the bull and not the other way around not knowing where the bull might go. like a bull in the china shop , society does need to be planned . we are dealing with  peoples lives. we cant wreck our natural resources we need to sustain us into the future haphazardly or allow our environment to be polluted and cause us more problems to deal with later. i apologize for not fact checking before i go off on a tangent. i don't apologize for the human race as the ones that can think for them self, usually only seem to think of them selves. and the ones who struggle to survive and are helpless. probably wouldn't be much help at all. its all the simple things that make a difference when it comes down to it in the end and trade offs ,  recycling your waste and cutting down electric are 2 things we both can do.  

      and hopefully one of these days i can get the farm off the grid or at least have an alternate source of electricity , as coal usage diminishes and power rates rise.

      next up is the shortest bridge in the state of ohio. this is along st. rt. 30. where you turn left on st. rt 154 to rogers oh. at the lock 24 restaurant . there is a large barn restaurant and directly behind the restaurant is the remnants of lock 24 of the sandy- beaver canal.
        now if you feeling a little guilty about all the 2x4 's you used in that last project and want to start to do the right thing. 5 acres of trees need to be planted on april 7 and columbiana county is asking for volunteers rain or shine. sounds like a good thing to do and they say all tools and trees will be provided. might be a good day to get out and do something different. they said they will be using a ripper on a 200 hp tractor to make furrow for seedlings. ck out their website or contact me if you want more information ,leave a comment or email me at: kdavis3051@yahoo.com- their website is Columbiana County Park District- this will also give you information about scenic vista park where i told you about yesterday, and hell bender park where the tree planting will take place.

      this all precedes tomorrows blog about the dinosaurs of coal mining the big shovels. will try and get you some links and have a couple of personal photos of an old marion dragline that james coal company used to use. these giants plundered the earth rattling it to  its bones blasting and moving huge swaths of overburden to reach that black coal. i remember watching 3 of these giants at different times of my life. it was exciting to watch them work. they are gone but the land they destroyed for the power used and abused by now is still here and we now need to have those areas replanted . just need to give back to nature and make room for our future.

       this is reclaimed strip mine land . not currently being used and at one time no doubt was covered with trees. this is the area that the dinosaur machines of man roamed in. maybe since the raping of natural resources has yielded all her bowels will give , these areas may find peace at last. oh yeah remeber to change your time and buy a new battery for your smoke detector. ch -ch- ch- changes .
